We’re Creating a New Kind of Agency! (#PadillaCRT)

Today we’re announcing that CRT/tanaka has agreed to join forces with our long-time partner Padilla Speer Beardsley creating one of the top 10 independent public relations agencies in the country. We’ve collaborated with Padilla for more than 10 years, so we know their talented staff and we share similar philosophies focused upon client service, a special workplace culture and strategic insights. To put it simply, PadillaCRT is a smart move for everyone involved.

We are operating in times that call for new approaches – for more strategic solutions, more inventive thinking, more inspired campaigns and more transparent communications. So, we’re building an agency with a focus on the integration of disciplines. We will operate at the intersection of heart and head, agency and client, public relations and advertising, digital and physical, words and images, brands and consumers, research and creative, truth and honor. We will offer our clients a proven agency with a renewed sense of purpose, and we invite our employees to be part of a firm that goes beyond independence to empowerment, by making every employee an owner. Combined, we will have deep expertise in food & beverage, healthcare, business-to-business marketing, consumer products & services, manufacturing, technology, agribusiness, recreation and other sectors. Plus, we will feature award-winning capabilities in branding, creative advertising, research, corporate and investor relations, digital communications, crisis management and new/social media. Our 200 employee owners will be located in Minneapolis, Virginia (Richmond and Norfolk), New York, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. And, through Padilla’s founding membership in the Worldcom global agency network, we’ll be able to provide our clients with access to superior service and local market expertise around the world.

In short, we’re creating a unique agency that will be attractive to clients, prospects and employees – one with a range of specialties and reach not commonly found in independent firms. In the process, everyone on our staff will become employee owners under the PadillaCRT banner. This will be the antithesis of the big Omnicom-Publicis Groupe deal announced over the weekend. In our deal, employees will not be laid off. Clients will not be jettisoned because of conflicts. And, shareholders and executives will not be the real winners. Instead, this deal is about the success of our clients, fairness for our employees and the continuation of our fierce independence.
