A busy year for #HigherEd in the White House

Whether the discussion is free community college, the Higher Education Act or a renewed college ranking system, higher education has been an ongoing topic of conversation at the White House in 2015.

Recently, POTUS weighed in once more on college students’ sensitivity, and First Lady Michelle Obama has continued to work on her Better Make Room initiative.

This time, she grabbed a mic and put out a rap video.

Michelle Obama

“If you want to fly jets / you should go to college
Reach high and cash checks / fill your head with knowledge”

These lines open the chorus in the “Go To College” music video featuring First Lady Michelle Obama, which has been viewed more than 4 million times on YouTube. Certainly a non-traditional way to advocate for higher education, but there’s no arguing it was widely recognized.
